Millicent Onyonyi quit troubled BOC Gases mid-February last year, just two years after she took the helm at the firm that has seen a downturn in sales due to competition from imports. Ms Onyonyi, who is also the former Oil Libya retail co-ordinator, was appointed to head the Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed firm in April 2016 replacing Maria Msiska who had left in January of that year after five-and-a-half years as managing director.

Petroleum Cabinet Secretary John Munyes appointed Ms Onyonyi for a three-year term, coming at a time the State firm is in the eye of a storm following a graft purge that has seen several senior managers investigated over loss of public funds.Ms Onyonyi quit troubled BOC Gases mid-February last year, just two years after she took the helm at the firm that has seen a downturn in sales due to competition from imports.

Ms Onyonyi, who is also the former Oil Libya retail co-ordinator, was appointed to head the Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed firm in April 2016 replacing Maria Msiska who had left in January of that year after five-and-a-half years as managing director.At BOC, Ms Onyonyi was replaced by Marion Gathoga-Mwangi.She led the firm through increasingly lean times as its sales came under pressure due to competition from oxygen and nitrogen imports.She joins the board of the State firm at a time when forensic investigations into alleged corruption at the KPC is due.

Mr Munyes had set January 31 as the deadline for KPC to conclude a forensic audit into its after graft allegations hit the agency prompting the suspension and arrest of several top officials including former MD Joe Sang.Mr Munyes did not respond to earlier queries on the status of the audit, indicating that taxpayers may have to wait longer to know the findings.KPC acting MD Hudson Andambi also did not respond to previous queries on findings of the audit report.
