Nibs Sh450m hotel to open next week

Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (Nibs) Sh450 million five-star Kileleshwa hotel is set to open next week. Emory Hotel is a venture of the business and technical courses trainer based in Ruiru with satellite wings in several towns.

“We are seeking to use the hotel as a job-creation venture and we have already recruited staff in all of its departments. We will also offer opportunities to suppliers to partner with us in making the business profitable as well as serve our tax obligations for the benefit of the national economy,” she said.

She said the hotel will also serve Nibs hospitality students through practical skills, attachment and employment.

Ms Wanyoike said the hotel targets all cadres of clientele, in the process linking itself with the tourism sector where it will attract the much-needed foreign currency for the economy.

It was funded by Equity Bank#ticker:EQTY through a negotiated credit package.

The 2015 African International Business and Management (Aibuma) award holder and this year’s National Diversity, Inclusion and Recognition awards (DIAR) nominee, however, said the government needs to be sensitive on local investors in its taxation regimes.
