Norwegian Air Shuttle says will demand Boeing pay for grounding of 737 MAX planes

Oslo, Norway, Mar 13 – Low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle, which has grounded its 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft pending an investigation into the cause of a crash in Ethiopia, will demand financial compensation from Boeing, it said Wednesday.

“We’re going to send the entire bill to Boeing,” a spokesman for the company, Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen, told financial news website www.e24.no.

“Norwegian should not be financially penalised because a brand new aircraft cannot fly.”
