Chief Executive Officer
Geoffrey is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He joined Genghis Capital in August 2016 as Chief Executive from Pamoja Capital where he had been Managing Director and Group Head of Corporate Finance.
Geoffrey has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions having worked on a number of landmark cross-border M&A and financing deals involving businesses with operations in more than 30 African countries.
Having worked in South Africa between 2003 and 2006 and in Nigeria in 2007, he acquired a genuine appreciation of business opportunities, transaction origination and execution across the three major business hubs in Africa.
His areas of expertise include; Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory, Capital Raising, Project Finance and Corporate Finance.
Chair, Board of Directors
Godwin holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Currently a Senior Partner at Mboya Wangong’u & Waiyaki Advocates, Godwin began his legal practice with Nyachae & Company Advocates in 1988 following his admission to the Roll of Advocates of the High Court of Kenya.
He is a Patent and Trade Mark agent; Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public; member of the Law Society of Kenya; member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya; member of the Corporate and Commercial and the Real Estate & Banking Practice and heads the Tax Law Practice.
Godwin’s areas of expertise include; Corporate and Commercial law, Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisition, Privatisation & PPP’s, Capital Markets, Tax Law Planning, Technology Media & Telecoms, Intellectual Property and Energy & Infrastructure.
Dr. Joshua Aroni
Chair, Board Audit and Risk Committee
Dr. Aroni is an Accountant, Investment and Financial Analyst. He holds Ph.D in Business Administration (Finance), and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (K), Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (K) and Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (K).
He has extensive experience in finance, financial modeling and project evaluation with interest in capital markets in the region supported by several publications. In the past 2 decades, he has worked in various consultancies to support business start-ups and internal control systems set ups, the manufacturing and energy sectors and also with UNEP/AfDB supported project – Greening the Tea Industry in East Africa (GTIEA).
Dr. Aroni currently provides consultancy services to the industry as an expert in project evaluation and execution.
Chief Commercial Officer
Edward is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
He is the Managing Director at Pamoja Capital – Kenya. Prior to joining Pamoja, Edward worked for Kenya Airways both in Kenya and abroad, engaging partners and building network in more than 20 African countries.
Edward worked in Netherlands between 2002 and 2003 managing strategic partnership between Kenya Airways and KLM. In the strategic corporate planning assignments across Africa, he led negotiations and structured commercial agreements with partners resulting in the expansion of the airline into the Angola, Mozambique, D.R.C in Africa, and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East and Australia in the Far East.
His areas of expertise include; Financial Analyst, Business Processing Outsourcing and Global Investment.
Diana is a frontier markets private equity professional focusing on deal origination, capital raising, investor relations and portfolio company support in the capital markets and PE industries in Sub Saharan Africa.
She is Founder and Managing Partner of Private Equity Support, a consulting firm that works with both buy side and sells side mandates and was also co-founder and Partner at P&L Consulting, a business advisory firm.
Prior to setting up the firms, Diana worked as Business Development Manager at Britam Asset Management, Head of IR at Fusion Group Africa and Investor Relations Manager at the Nairobi Securities Exchange. She also set up the IR department and managed the Securities Industry Training Institute (SITI) programmes, Kenya chapter, on behalf of the East Africa Securities Exchange Association (EASEA).
Diana holds an LLB and is an advocate of the high court in Kenya. She is currently pursuing her CFA designation.
